3193 LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH TALL CASE CLOCK. Having brass works, floral handpainted face, swan neck pediment with urn finials, arched door flanked by columns. Shaft has canted corners with reeding, base has a fully reeded front panel. Raised on turned legs. Size: 92" H, 19.5" W, 11.5" D. 3240 CONN. TRIPLE DECKER CLOCK. c. 1840-1860. Key wind, weight driven, three window pendulum clock. Mahogany veneered case, Empire style with two engaged columns and entablature. Top window functions as clock face cover, middle window has reversed painted scene of State House Hartford, bottom window has reverse painted country cottage. Marked: on clock face: Forestville Manufacturing Co. Bristol, Ct. USA. Clock works marked: Forestville Manufacturing Co. Bristol, Ct. Cast metal mantel clock, rectangular black painted metal base on four hairy paw fee with classical corner caps, center cast cartouche, cast figure of seated "Mercury" with shield and winged helmet on left, clock sits on right side with two drop side pendants and top finial. Beveled glass face plate, enameled clock face in gilt surround, elaborate gilt hands. Key wind pendulum movement, 1/2 hour strike. Marked: clock works marked: Ansonia Clock Co. Patented June 14 1881 New York USA Patented June 18 1882 6 1/2. Size: 17 1/2"L, 14"H, 7 1/2"D. Condition: loss of one wing from helmet, top part of finial missing, no key, sold as is. 350 - 500
3255 19TH C. SWISS MUSIC BOX. 19thc. Large Swiss music box with three 13"metal cylinders, each playing 6 selections, double zither player elements. Ebonized and burled wood stepped case, ebonized edges and turned corner decorations, burled wood front and lid. Lower drawer with key lock stores extra rolls, top lid key locked, interior of lid has metal cartouche marked "No.13". Interior glass lid lifts with two leather straps to access rollss and levers for operation, levers and instructions in French. Right side crank mechanism, two decorative metal side handles. Mechanism marked interior front center: 2293 above Swiss Cross mark, Patent US 445649, Marque Deposse, Patented in England 12170/90, B/te S.G.B.G. en France 207352. Rolls marked: 4375 YY 13, 4250 M 13, 4226 L 13. Roll M also marked 98. Size: 30 1/2"W, 18 1/2"D, 16 1/2"H (closed), 29 1/2"H (open). Comes with a bound "Programme", three color litho with hand written lists of songs and composers, one for each roll. Pages marked: Marque de Fabrique Deposse, Litho S. Picard (Geneve), Trademark Registered. Works listed include: Marche by DeSormes, Le Petit vin de Bordeause by S.De Wenzel, Coppelia by Delibes, La Cid by Massenet, Le fille du Regiment by Donizetti, as well as works by Offenbach and others. Condition: of booklet signs of age, weak spine. Condition of music box: comes with original key and crank, in working condition but sold as is because we cannot guarantee condition after shipping.
