KATANA. Circa 19th century(?). Shinogi Zukuri style of blade. The spacers (seppa), guard (tsuba), collar (fuchi) and handle (tsuka) are loose and will come off due to the missing handle peg (mekugi). The blade is slightly tarnished, but is in good condition considering age. The leather on the scabbard has age appropriate wear, and the metal bands are slightly rusted. Signed and dated by the swordsmith on the lower part of the blade (tang) below the handle. |
