3106 E. VILLANIS WATER NYMPH BRONZE. Early 20th c. Bronze with verdigris. Signed in the rear "E. Villanis." Emmanuelle Villanis (French, 1880-1920) is a listed sculptor of the female form. This Art Nouveau-ish bronze is strongly organic and reveals a nymph like nude woman emerging from the verdigris patinated waves. Size: 7 1/4" h., 11 1/4" w., 8 1/4" deep. Condition: no major defects. 1,400 - 2,000
3107 PJ MENE GREYHOUND BRONZE. 19th c? Bronze, adhered to a black stone base. Pierre Jules Mene (French, 1810-1879) is a listed sculptor of animals. This shows a greyhound with his front leg raised. Brown patina. Size: 7 1/2" h., 8 3/4" w., 4" deep without the base. Condition: no visible detractions. 700 - 1,000
3108 HENRI VIDAL FEMALE BUST. Early 20th c. Brass with red color rubbed into the recessed areas, on a red stone base. Signed "Hri Vidal" in the cast and also marked "Prix de Paris 1892, 88 (in a circle)." Vidal is a listed French sculptor. Size without base: 7" h. Condition: no major detractions. 200 - 300
3109 BOHEMIENNE BUST. Late 19th / early 20th c. Cast metal, patinated brown. No signature visible. This is an Art Nouveau style bust that shows a woman with long hair and languid expression presnted as the "Bohemienne." It is on a black, variegated stone base. Size (without base): 20" h., 12" w., 9 1/2" deep (with the base). Condition: no major detractions. 500 - 700
3195 GEO. MAXIM WORKER AND MUSE. Late 19th c/ early 20th c. Cast metal, patinated greenish brown. Entitled "Muse Inspirant le Travail (The Muse Inpiring Labor)," this is a George Maxim composition (Belgian). It shows an angelic being hovering above a blacksmith. Size: 35" h., 12" w., 8 3/4" deep. Condition: 1/8" hole in the man's pants among the waist folds; marked C.S. France with Made in Paris stamp. 800 - 1,100
3339 CARVED WALRUS TUSK. Carved walrus tusk, scene of whaling on one side, Eskimos harvesting whales on the other side. Marked: triangular mark on flat base with cyrillic letters. Size: 20"L, 2 3/4"W (wider end) 1"W (shorter end). Condition: 2" crack in body of tusk. 300 - 600
3437 MARBLE FEMALE BUST. Recent. In a robe with roses in her hair. Size: 16" h., 13" w., 8" d. Condition: like new. 200 - 300
3453 PAINTED FEMALE BUST. 19th c? Painted chalk or plaster. Shows a woman adorned with grapes and a green wrap. Size; 20' h. Condition: the signature is illegible due to the applied paint (V. Becha?). 250 - 400
