C.1850 ITALIAN SERVER. C.1850. Italian walnut Renaissance style carved library server/sideboard, three display levels, four drawers. Base on two hairy paw feet with two drawers , lion face carved pulls, grotesque carved heads on each front end, second level with two drawers, mirror image S scroll aprons, supported by three pierce carved supports. Top level supported by three smaller pierced carved acanthus supports, crest rail deeply carved with leaf and scroll decoration, shell and acanthus leaf center, two small side front carved finials. Two carved winged putti heads compliment sides of second level. Back panels with carved oval medallions and acanthus ornaments. No mark. Size: 71"W, 90"H, 25"D. Condition: stains on first and second levels, lower left support has two small pendant ball ornaments missing, top right acanthus leaf ornament with minor losses, C scroll element on crest rail broken and repaired. |
