Glass cased blue over clear with center strawberry diamond cut band and top and bottom vertical straight cuts. Two set in low brass mounts, four hairy paw feet in squared base, top brass ring fitted over glass. Center bowl with matching cutting set in brass base, raised on four hairy paw feet, cross braced stretcher and four lion ring decorations atop each foot, topped with matching brass ring. 1291 BRAMHALL ART GLASS SCULPTURE. 1970. Free form hand blown art glass vessel with three interior connections, amber and brown floriform designs on body, narrow neck, made by Peter Bramhall, Vermont artist known for blown glass "interiors". Bramhall began working in glass at the University of Wisconsin in 1964, in 1967 and 1968 he attended the Penland School of Crafts to learn glass blowing. 1751 19TH C MUNICH MAGI WINDOW Late 19th Century. c.1880-1910. Munich style stained glass figural window representing Three Magi, Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar presenting gifts. Traditional stained glass compositin of stacking figures within tall arched format typifies Munich style developed in the 19th c. of looking at 15th and 16th c. examples for inspiration. Form and detail are painted or stained onto a glass panel, lead outlines play a lesser role in defining the form. Architectural detail of column, corinthian capital and arched top are created by this painted and fired technique. Facial details and fabric details are also refined in this fashion. This window was once part of a larger scene. Missing right hand panel would contain the fiugres of the Holy Family in the stable and be edged on the right with matching architectural detail. No makers mark visible. Size: glass: 72"H, 31"W. Frame: 77"H, 35 1/2"W. Condition: window is in a wooden framework with four reinforcing cross bars for support. An area of repair above the standing Magi has solid green replacement panels, several panels around this repaired area are also cracked. 1752 ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA WINDOW. C.1890-1910. Stained glass window arched format in rectangular framework, carmel slag glass central field, double green ripple glass banded border framing blue panels, center field framed by two acanthus capital columns and acanthus scroll arched top. Central shaped medallion bordered with beaded band and four lily finials. Center figure of St. Anthony of Padua (born 1195-died 1231) holding the Christ Child resting on an open book in one arm and a spray of lilies in the other. He wears a Franciscan habit with a rosary suspended from his cinture. the book symbolizes that he is a Doctor of the Church, the lily symbolizes purity and chastity. Rosette panels appear throughout the window. No makers mark. Size: glass: 72"H, 37 1/4"W, wooden framework: 77"H, 42 1/4"W. Condition: window set in a newer wooden framework. one carmel slag glass panel crakced, one panel of the Christ Child with two cracks, paint drips on window. Provenance: removed from church in Ohio. 1753 AGONY IN THE GARDEN WINDOW C.1890-1910. Stained glass window with arched format in rectangular frame, double green ripple glass bands frame blue border panels, center field of carmel slag glass between two columns with acanthus capitals and acanthus scrolled arched top, central shaped medallion features Christ kneeling in the Garden of Gethsemane, offering up the chalice of His blood, the medallion has a beaded border capped on four sides with lily decorated panels to form cross like finials. Features on face, chalice, capitals and beading painted, stained and fired on the glass. Size: glass: 72"H, 35"W, framework: 77"H, 40"W. Condition: two reinforcing rods aid stability of window, newer wooden framework holds window, one blue border panel damaged and repaired, one panel of column repaired, one carmel slag glass panel replaced. 1754 2 PANEL CRUCIFIXION WINDOW. C.1900-1920. Two panel arched top figural stained glass window. Wide border with alternating rosette and palm decoration edged with mottle blue panels. Center section above and below has field of yellow, pink and green diaper pattern panels with scattered floral rondels and radiating fleur de lis. Top panel centered by elongated quatrafoil containing Gothic style crucifix surrounded by five red roses. Lower panel has vertical rectangle with cruciform decoration. Lowest portion of lower panel has two pane banderol inscribed "Matthew Cavalier and Patrick Ryan" (donors of the window). No maker mark. Size: top panel: glass 47 1/2"H, 29 1/2"W, frame: 51 1/2"H, 34 1/2"W. lower panel: glass 47 1/2"H, 29 1/2"W, frame: 52 1/2"H, 34 1/2"W. 1755 2 PANEL CHI RHO WINDOW c.1900-1920. Two panel arched top figural stained glass window. Wide border with alternating rosette and palm decoration edged in mottled blue. Top and bottom panel center sections with field of yellow, green and pink diaper panels with scattered floral rondels and radiating fleur de lis. Top panel centered by elongated quatrafoil centered by Chi Rho (P X) monogram for Christ with seraphim heads with red wings above and below, golden rays radiating in four directions. Lower panel with vertical rectanglue with cruciform decoration. Lowest portion with two panel banderol inscribed: "Mary and Nicholas Grant" (donors of the window). No makers mark. Size: top panel: glass 47 1/2"H, 29 1/2"W, frame: 51 1/2"H, 34 1/2"W. bottom panel: glass 47 1/2"H, 29 1/2"W, frame: 52 1/2"H, 34 1/2"W. Condition: crack in top seraphim head, spider crack in wing of lower seraphim. Paint and varnish on framework worn, paint drips on exterior side of window, losses to putty around windows. 1756 ST. THERESA OF LISIEUX WINDOW c.1920. Arched top stained glass window with St. Theresa of Lisieux, the Little Flower,(born 1873-died 1897) (Canonized 1925) full length figure in brown and white Carmelite habit holding a crucifix and roses in one hand and distributing roses in the other, standing before a brown and white drapery backdrop. the image symbolizes her promise to shower the world with prayers from heaven. The window is bordered by alternating rosettes, leaves and golden diaper pattern panels set between two bands of blue.
