KPM hand painted hard paste porcelain vase with portrait by Conrad Kiessel (b.Dusseldorf 1846- d.Berlin 1921) award winning artist who won honorable mention at Paris Exposition Universalle 1900. Vase on base raised on three hairy paw feet, raised gilt Neoclassical swag and floral decoration, coiling gilt snake around base of vase, front center hand painted female portrait wearing laurel crown, back center decorated with bands of Neoclassical raised gilt decoration of swags, wreaths and implements. Vase with overall apple green body with raised gilt highlights. Two pierced gilt volute handles with entwined serpents. Marked: portrait signed C.
