Chana Orloff (1888-1968) is a listed artist, primarliy a sculptor, whose subjects are of women, nudes, mothers, etc. She had many of her works cast in bronze. F. BARBEDIENNE CAST OF LUCIUS VERUS. 19th c./early 20th c. Bronze. Marked on the rear "F. Barbedienne. fonduer." The Barbedienne Foundry in Paris was famous during its relatively brief period of operation (1870s to 1918) for producing the finest quality of casting as well as casting Rodin's work among many other artists' work. This bust represents a member of the Antonine family of Imperial Rome (Antoninus Pius, Marcus Aurelius, Commodus, and Lucius Verus); the thin nose and short forehead most closely follow established patterns for Lucius Verus, Emperor Marcus Aurelius' adopted brother. GRACHEV BRONZE COSSACK AND COW. 19th c./perhaps early 20th c. Signed in Cyrillic. Marked in Roman letters CF Woerffels. Woerffels was a well known St. Petersburg foundry. The transliteration of the Cyrillic works out to LP Grachev, but it is unknown if the LP is part of the artist's name. There are several Grachev's who worked as sculptors during the late 19th century in Russia. This shows a "cossack" pointing his gun at a cow; the base is a muddy field with tree stumps.
