1689 FRUIT AND SILVER STILL LIFE. 19th or early 20th c. Oil on wooden panel. Unsigned. This decorative still life represents grapes, peaches, apples (?), cantaloupe, and a silver pitcher. Size: 9 1/2" h., 14" w., framed 17" h., 21" w. Condition: repaired area in the upper right corner that has been inpainted; frame as is. 300 - 500
1944 TED TRIMBLE COMIC STRIP ART. 1930s. India ink over pencil on illustration board. "Marty n' Pete" is signed Trimble. There are also unsigned Keeping Up With the Joneses comic strips that may be by Ted Trimble. The consignor relates how his grandfather, who was a friend of Pop Momand (the creator of Keeping Up With the Joneses), would sometimes copy Momand's comic strips. The four comic strips are Marty N' Pete : "Drink Wonder Pep," (after) Keeping Up...: Al gets hit by a flower pot; Marty N' Pete: Gran'Paw gets hit in the head with a baseball bat; and (after) Keeping Up...: Al plays poker with three chums. Size: each is approx. 7" h., 20 - 23" w. Condition: many losses to the two Marty N' Petes, general acid burn and browning to all; unframed; the two after Keeping Up... feature verso illustrations by Trimble of Babe Ruth studies and various character studies. 100 - 150
2040 TWO POP MOMAND COMIC STRIP ART. From June 6, 1931 and June 8, 1931. Dated in photo blue pencil. India ink over pencil on illustration paper. Signed. From Arthur "Pop" Momand's 1916-1944 strip "Keeping Up With the Joneses." These are "Midnight" and " The Midnight Meeting." Size: each is 7" h., 18 3/8" w. Condition: light stains and yellowing, minor tears in the bottom edge of "The Midnight Meeting;" otherwise good; unframed. 200 - 300
2042 TWO POP MOMAND KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES. From Nov. 19, 1931 and June 24, 1930. India ink over pencil on illustration paper. Dated in photo blue pencil. Signed in the strip. Adhered copyright and date, The Associated Newspapers. Arthur "Pop" Momand created the comic strip in 1915-1916 which ran for over two decades in national newspapers. These two show Aloysius McGinis being shadowed by a detective and "Who is Madame Boloni?" Size: 7" h., 19 3/4" w., and 5 7/8" h., 18 1/8" w. Condition: a 2" tear in the bottom of June 24, 1930; otherwise age appropriate yellowing and light staining; unframed. 200 - 300
2043 TWO POP MOMAND COMIC STRIP ART. Both are Keeping Up With the Jonese strips from June 29, 1931 and Jan. 5, 1932. Dated in photo blue pencil. India ink over pencil on illustration paper. Each is signed in the strip. The date, copyright and The Associated Newspapers is adhered to the original art. They are "Eddie has a Brilliant Mind," and "Bino Obeys Instructions." Size: each is approx. 6" h., 19" w. Condition: light stains and yellowing; unframed. 200 - 300
2044 TWO POP MOMAND COMIC STRIP ART. From July 16, 1931 and July 14, 1931. Dated in photo blue pencil. India ink over pencil on illustration paper. Signed in the strip. Arthur "Pop" Momand created these Keeping Up With The Jonese strips: "Speaking of the Devil," and "Big Hearted Eddie." Size: approx. 6" h., 18 1/8" w. Condition: reddish brown stains on the right edge of both (fingerprints); unframed. 200 - 300
2045 TWO POP MOMAND COMIC STRIP ART. From Nov.10, 1931 and Nov.21, 1931. Dated in photo blue pencil. India ink over pencil on illutration paper. Signed. From "Keeping Up With The Joneses." They are "Big Hearted Clarice" and "Eddie Con..." Size: approx. 6" h., 18" w. each. Condition: "Eddie Con..." is missing a triangular piece of paper where the remainder of the title was written, also it misses its upper right corner; otherwise both have age appropriate yellowing; unframed. 200 - 300

2055 TWO POP MOMAND COMIC STRIP ART. From Dec. 3, 1931 and June 12, 1931. Dated in photo blue pencil. India ink over pencil on illustration paper. Signed. From Arthur "Pop" Momand's 1916-1944 comic strip "Keeping Up With The Joneses" They are "The Little Woman!" and "Al is Worried." Size: 7" h., 18 1/4" w. Condition: variant pencil drawings of Eddie appear underneath the inked Eddie in "Al is Worried;" a Ted Trimble pencilled Marty N' Pete strip is on the verso of "The Little Woman!" The same strip has yellow glue discoloration over Eddie's coat. 200 - 300
2056 TWO POP MOMAND COMIC STRIP ART. From Jan. 6, 1932 and Oct., 9, 1931. Dated in photo blue pencil. These two strips are from Keeping Up With the Jonese: "Oh, Eddie Has Patience," and "Mr. Olsen is Cured." Arthur "Pop" Momand was a pioneer comic strip artist whose signature strip "Keeping up With the Joneses" was instrumental in showing consumerist idealogy in a popular format and inspiring some of the first moving cartoon films. Each is signed Pop Momand. Size: 6" h., 19" w., and 7" h., 18 1/8" w. Condition: light stains and edge scuffs; unframed. 200 - 300
2057 MARTY N' PETE COMIC STRIP ART. 1930s. From Ted Trimble. Signed. India ink over pencil on illustration paper. These four original comic strip artworks feature lovable, rascally boys in misadventures. One, "Right Side Up- With Care" (showing Pete roller skating) features Mr. Trimble's practiced signature. Size: each is approx. 7 1/2" h., 20" w. Condition: slightly yellowed; unframed. 200 - 300
