BRASS CLASSICAL TAZZA. Late 19th / early 20th c. Brass, bolted to a stone base. The motifs are: on the dish, Poseidon with his trident and various sea nymphs and mermen; on the underside of the dish, putti frame several cartouches in which are seen ideal women; along the stem, ram's heads and men's labors; the base is finished with ram's heads and acanthus leaves that terminate in reclining females. Size: 7" h., 6 7/8" dia. at the widest. Condition: no defects (very slight oxidation). |
