3135 SILK EMBROIDERED PIANO SCARF This silk embroidered piano scarf has birds and flowers embroidered on it. It measures 90" by 80" including the fringe. Good condition, no holes, it does have a small stain. 60 - 150

3138 EARLY HAND STITCHED QUILT Early hand stitched quilt in red, green and brown geometric pattern. It measures 87" by 78". Quilt was made in Ohio in the 1880's. It has a small amount of fading and soiling. 400 - 500

3151 SIGNED SUZUKI ORANGE MOUNTAINS. 20th c. (1950s or 1960s perhaps) Oil on canvas. Signed "Suzuki" lower left corner. This shows a mountain in a desolate landscape created out of strongly diagonal strokes in orange, yellow and brown. Expressionist on style. THere is also a Japanese (?) character stamped in purple ink on the stretcher bars. Size: 15" h., 18" w., framed 21" h., 24" w. Condition: some paint flaking in the center of the image; needs to be cleaned of chalky white striations; otherwise in good condition. 100 - 150
3152 CHERUB IN FLIGHT DECORATIVE O/C. 20th c. (within the last thirty years). Oil on canvas. Signed C. Newman in red, lower right. This may once have been part of a larger decoration and may have been cut down and stretched to bars. A cherub is shown with flowers in hand. Size: 20" h., 16" w., framed 27" h., 23" w. Condition: the linen canvas appears to be fairly new, no damage, pinholing, abrasions or mechanical damage to the canvas verso; the image continues to the edges of the canvas; the whole is set into a frame older than the painting; frame as is. 100 - 150

This is a combination sculpture: the female horse rider has ivory arms, feet, and head/torso, but her skirt, the horse and the support underneath the horse are white marble (with several small black inclusions). The base is cream and black variegated stone. Size: without variegated stone base 12 1/2" h., 14" long, 5" w., with variegated stone base 19 1/4" h., 7" w. Condition: the ivory has many age appropriate cracks; the right side of her face broke off from a crack and has been adhered into place; the fingers holding the mane are partly ivory and partly some cast material; the outstretched arm is a separate piece of ivory and there is some chipped wear to the joint; variegated stone base is as is. 4,500 - 5,000

3416 SACRED HEART WOODEN JESUS STATUE. Polychromed wood. Undated, but old (19th c.). Unsigned. Jesus is shown with stigmata, the flaming heart and one hand outstretched beatifically. The statue is made of sections of wood, put together and carved; the back is open. Perhaps it once inhabited a niche. Professionally restored in the early 1990s (old paint was stripped and it was repainted with oils). Size: 59" h., weight is greater than 75 lbs. Condition: as noted above; the wood is obviously old with age appropriate checks to the end grain (visible on the bottom of the base); part of the crown of thorns is redone in putty and appropriately color matched. 1,200 - 2,000

This is a near replica of the same image in the collection of the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Greensburg, PA (see "Southwestern Pennsylvania Painters 1800-1945" by Paul Chew, ed., 1981, page 54).
